ESA Funding

Your ESA dollars were made for this.

Lisa is herself an ESA parent. She knows the portal, the questions, and the "wait, does this count?" moments. You're not figuring this out alone.

Built for ESA families

Every ESA requirement — covered.

The ESA program has specific documentation and purchasing requirements. Here's exactly how Honeycomb takes care of them — so you're not figuring it out alone.

ESA Requirement
How Honeycomb Handles It 🐝

📚 Curriculum Documentation

ESA requires a course of study for each subject — covering learning objectives, teaching methods, and supplemental materials — submitted in the ADE-approved format.

✅ Curriculum built from the ADE template

Lisa prepares a complete, ADE-compliant curriculum for each enrolled student covering all required subjects — ready to attach to your ClassWallet uploads.

🧾 Tuition Invoices

ESA requires itemized invoices from any education provider — must include provider name, address, invoice number, student name, dates of service, and itemized charges.

✅ Compliant invoices provided monthly

Honeycomb provides fully itemized monthly invoices, formatted to meet all ESA requirements. Just upload to ClassWallet — no guesswork.

💻 Technology & Software

ESA covers educational software and devices — but purchases must be tied to the curriculum as required or recommended resources.

✅ IXL & Lexia listed as required curriculum tools

IXL and Lexia Core5/PowerUp are embedded in each student's curriculum as required tools — making them straightforward ESA purchases. Families can also reference the curriculum when purchasing devices.

📦 Supplemental Supply Receipts

Families purchasing books, art supplies, or educational kits must submit itemized receipts — and some items require curriculum documentation showing the purchase is recommended or required.

✅ Monthly materials referenced in the curriculum

Project materials and supplies are listed in each student's curriculum so families have the documentation they need. Lisa can also help you figure out which ClassWallet category to use.

📊 Achievement Testing

ESA funds can cover nationally normed, standardized achievement tests to measure grade-level mastery — from a recognized testing organization.

✅ MAP Growth included — 3x per year

MAP Growth by NWEA is nationally normed and ESA-eligible. Honeycomb runs it three times a year and provides a full report — already included in registration, no extra charge.

🎓 Provider Credentials

Teaching services require proof that the provider holds at least a high school diploma or higher — or that the business has submitted an attestation confirming all staff credentials to ADE.

✅ M.Ed. + ADE attestation on file

Lisa holds a Master's in Educational Leadership from NAU with 14+ years of classroom experience. Honeycomb's Business Accreditation Attestation is on file with ADE — families don't need to do a thing.

Still have questions about what your ESA covers? Lisa's been through it herself.

Meet your educator

Built by a teacher.
Shaped by a parent.

I started Honeycomb Learning Collective because I couldn't find what I was looking for — for my own child. I wanted something flexible enough to work for real family life, but structured enough that kids were actually learning, growing, and connected to a community. So I built it.

With over 14 years in elementary classrooms and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, I know what good instruction looks like. And as an ESA parent myself, I know what it feels like to navigate all of this from the other side of the table.

Our Mission

"To create a place where students can learn flexibly — with real accountability, genuine support, and a community behind them. We promise to keep tuition intentionally low so families always have funds left over for the things that make their kids, them — whether that's robotics, dance, soccer, or something we haven't even heard of yet."

Questions

Things we get asked a lot

Couldn't find your answer here? Book a 15-minute call — no pressure, just answers.

No — ESA is an either/or decision. A child cannot be enrolled in a traditional public or charter school while participating in the ESA program. Joining Honeycomb means fully exiting the public school system. It's a big step, and one worth talking through. Book a free call and Lisa can walk you through exactly what that looks like for your family.
The standard program serves grades 1–6, organized into three Hive groups: Honey Bees (1–2), Worker Bees (3–4), and Scout Bees (5–6). The Lite plan is available for grades 1–8.
Honeycomb is a registered ClassWallet vendor, so payments can be made directly from your ESA account — no out-of-pocket required for most families. Lisa provides itemized monthly invoices that are ready to upload. We can walk you through the whole process on your info call.
We cap each Hive at 6–8 students. That's not a marketing line — it's how we keep instruction quality high. Once a Hive fills, it fills. This is why early enrollment matters.
Live instruction runs Monday through Thursday. Fridays are flexible — enrichment, appointments, family time, whatever you need. Monthly in-person meetups give students real face time with their Hive friends.
Absolutely. Join our interest list and we'll send occasional updates — no pressure, no spam, just info when it's relevant. You can also book a free call anytime to ask questions without any commitment.
